Resilience and Community Spirit Shine at The Festival Theatre at Hever Castle

A year ago, the Festival Theatre at Hever Castle suffered irreparable damage. Despite this setback, they continued their performances with incredible support, utilising various venues across the Castle grounds. The team at Hever Festival Theatre extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed tirelessly: the estate and venue managers who welcomed them, the artists who performed in unconventional spaces, the theatre staff and tech team who transformed these spaces into makeshift venues, and you, the amazing audience, for your unwavering support and attendance. Thank you for standing by us during this challenging time.

One year on they’re back home with their new theatre and raring to go for the summer. They can’t wait to welcome you in. On 19th July the stage will light up with laughter for an uproarious adventure with Jeeves & Wooster.

It’s nearly here, the Summer Season, full of magic, joy and summer fun. Some shows are very near to SOLD-OUT, it would seem the new theatre is as popular with you as it is with the organisers.

‘Oh my goodness, what a fabulous evening. We loved the new structure, no more getting rained on. We loved the clear roof and how warm it was sitting under the sky.’

‘Open air in a beautiful setting. Plenty of leg room with comfortable seating. Excellent view.’

Please remember EVERY seat in the theatre is fully under cover because there is a new roof. The roof is rather gorgeous for other reasons too – it is clear so you can gaze at the stars on and off stage and if you are sitting on the grandstand the view through the back wall feels like you are sitting in a treehouse.

Throughout the whole summer you can enjoy live music, Shakespeare, comedy, opera, family shows and history. Don’t miss the first ever History Festival in collaboration with the Castle’s curatorial team and Historian Dr. Owen Emmerson, the festival will host its first four-day deep-dive into Tudor history (19-22 Aug).

The festival caters to all ages with a range of family-friendly activities to keep your children entertained throughout the holidays. From classic tales; Peter Pan and The Horrible Histories, to wonderful puppetry in Out of the Hat and Top Secret’s Magic of Science.
