How to stay safe while dating during a pandemic
Covid 19 has put a stop to many activities this year but this winter it is still possible to date. We all need to be respectful of the ‘tier’ we are in and follow the Government guidelines that are associated with it. Once you’ve worked that out then there are plenty of ways to get to know someone new. In the majority of cases you will be able to meet outside, socially distanced of course, and despite it being winter there are plenty of nice things to do. Some of our favourites include wrapping up for a winter walk and a hot drink, ice skating and going for brunch. When dating there are always certain things to be aware of to keep yourself safe. Here are some of our top tips.
Where are you going?
First and foremost always tell someone where you are going and how long you will be. It doesn’t matter who you tell, be it a trusted neighbour, a family member or a friend. Tell them that you will call and speak to them if you’re going to be longer than you thought.
Meet in public…
It’s so exciting meeting someone new for the first time, the getting ready beforehand, using pheromones for women and the pre-date nerves are quite scary and exciting! It’s so important you keep safe, so meeting in public is essential when you meet someone you don’t know. Stick to meeting in public places until you are sure that your date is trustworthy.
Hand sanitiser!
Keep a small bottle of sanitiser in your pocket or handbag and don’t be afraid to use it. It sounds obvious but some people are worried of what people will think. Your safety must come first and if you’ve touched something other people have also touched such as a door handle or taxi seatbelt use your sanitiser. Or another option could be to try some pheromones for women. They are meant to be vert effective for
Wear that mask…
Make sure you carry a mask with you in case you need to go indoors at all. Everywhere in England will require you to wear a mask indoors at the moment and whilst some places may have spares for people to use, it is definitely safer to have your own.
Reliable dating site
We would advise keeping to a local and reputable dating site such as Suffolk dating. At the moment in particular where counties are divided into tiers it makes sense to register with an agency local to you so that whoever you see is also in the same tier as you. This will definitely increase your chances of being able to meet up safely in person as the time moves on.
Personal details…
Remember to be sensible and don’t exchange personal details to someone you’ve only just met. Follow the advice on your dating site and establish communication via their direct messaging service. Do not feel pressurised to exchange your personal information, if someone can’t afford the monthly fee on the site they probably aren’t prioritising dating.
Virtual meet-up?
If cases are rising where you are you may feel safer meeting up virtually. It’s more than ok to suggest that to your date. Consider the extra time as a bonus as you get to know each other from the safety of your own home. There are lots of things you can do virtually such as quizzes or even a cook along together.
Sorry but…
If you do meet someone you’ve not met before, at the time of writing this, all guidance says to avoid physical contact unless you’re in an established relationship.
Happy dating! Stay safe!
