5 Ways To Decorate Your Home This Spring

For many of us the snow has started to melt away and we are left with temperatures starting to increase away from the depths of winter. As we start to feel the nights drawing back out again there is a feeling that Spring might not be quite so far away.
We are all spending so much time at home during the Pandemic and this, together with Spring approaching, offers the perfect time to start thinking of ways to freshen up our homes. Here are five of our favourite ways to decorate your home this Spring…
Blooming lovely…
The shops are full of early Spring flowers at the moment. Arranging blooms around your home is a perfect way to bring the feeling of happiness and sunshine in. Try arranging in a big display in the centre of the table or pull the bouquet apart and separate out into smaller arrangements of just a few beautiful stalks in an old jam jar or bottle.
My favourite thing to do is to tie some ribbon or string around the outside of an old jam jar, place a few blooms inside and put it on my bedside table. It brightens up the room and when I wake I love having that reminder of the season.
Embrace the outside…
Start thinking about your garden and how you would like it to look for the summer. There are some great value deals in the shops at this time of year. Keep an eye out for the right garden furniture. What comfy additions could you add to the garden too? Have a look out for hammock stands, which means that if you fancy chilling out in a hammock, you won’t need to attach it to a tree! I have dreams of sitting back and relaxing in my hammock. Let’s make this happen!
Fab flooring
Making a change to the flooring throughout your home can make such a difference! Whether it is choosing some luxurious rugs or the much coveted parquet flooring to run seamlessly through you home, making an update really can make all the difference.
A fresh start…
As we move out of winter the faux fur and fluffy cosy blankets start to give way to thinner wool blankets in brighter spring colours. As the season progresses I also store away some of the rugs we use on the floor and it completely changes the feel of the house.
Try looking around at the pictures and wall art around your home and think of ways to freshen up the images. Refreshing your current wall hangings for new art prints, or posters as the seasons change will rejuvenate your rooms and evoke the feeling of a fresh start. There are so many images to choose from, you really are spoilt for choice.
New bedding…
Shopping for a new duvet set will instantly transform the look of the bedrooms in your home. Opt for a clean crisp white to brighten up any room and add ‘pops’ of spring colours to bring the season inside.
Embrace Easter…
As Easter approaches I think we will all feel the need to celebrate this year, more than usual. Year on year I add a few more Easter decorations to my home. Already I have some pre-lit branches which we decorate with little Easter baubles, we string a lovely pastel wooden banner across our fireplace and add little hanging bunnies and chicks to cupboard doors.
